We came across Rock That Gem on instagram a few months ago and we were instantly drawn by the bright colors and clean lines of their gorgeous jewelry. Park Slope based designer Molly Clarke has been working with gems for a long time. You could say she’s kind of a gem wizard. A graduate gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), she spent five of her nine years in the jewelry industry as a gemstone grader and buyer. “Searching through parcels of gems, I would seek out only the loveliest stones to be used in jewelry — the ones with proportions that showcased the color and beauty of each gem in the best possible way. This awareness for detail and love for gems has lead to Rock That Gem, a line of gemstone jewelry where the beauty of the stone is the focus.”
